Risk Assessment

The objective of conducting both country and organisation security assessments is to improve the effectiveness of the organisations development policy and programmes in contributing to security incident prevention and reduction. Security assessments can be used to assess:

• Risks of negative effects of security on projects;
• Risks of projects or policies exacerbating security;
• Opportunities to improve the effectiveness of security procedures in contributing to security incident prevention and reduction.

Security assessment can focus on individual projects and programmes at a strategic level to focus on a country or region. GSEC Enterprises Limited has conducted strategic security assessments in many countries. In each country, the approach has been to map out the security risks and current responses to it and to identify future policy and project options.
